Holiday Alfoat. - With the flood-tide on Tuesday morning, five men gathered at Dog-in-a-Doublet, Whittlesey, beside a 40 h.p. ex-police patrol motor boat. They were: Mr. E. Mayersbeth, Mr. C. Mayersbeth and Mr. W. [sic] Mayersbeth, of 12, Glenton-street, Petersborough, Mr. K. Benton, of 7, New-road, Woodston, and Mr. B. Spires, of New England. Their intention was to go down the Nene into the Wash and thence across the North Sea, to Ostend, there to spend a week's holiday. Mr. E. Mayersbeth acted as captain and they set off about 4 o'clock on Tuesday morning. They reached Sutton Bridge very soon, where they stopped to take in more petrol and provisions and to put Mr. Spires ashore. Later they left Sutton Bridge, heading for the open sea. Since then no further news has been received.
